A Message from the Office of BAGR President

Dear BAGR Members,

Myself, and the members of incoming Executive Committee are  extremely honored to have been elected by you and accept the responsibilities that your trust has entitled us to. We would like to thank the members of the outgoing committee for their efforts in running the association over the past year and organising all the events succesfully. These will be big shoes to fill in, and we will do our best to follow. Let me assure you that in our activities we will be guarded by no other principles than those of the BAGR Constitution. Thank you again for your trust in me and my team.

BAGR was formed by these Indian families with the hopes of celebrating and preserving the Bengali and Indian culture that they had left behind in a home over eight thousand miles away. Over the years, BAGR has flourished as an organization. Our community currently comprises of families living here for long time as well as recently relocated one, myself included, from the Greater Rochester area. Each year BAGR hosts events, which are aimed to promote Bengali cultural and religious awareness within our community.  We have inherited this great tradition from our seniors and we intend to pass it on to incoming generations. To meet this endeavor, we encourage our members to participate in cultural and educational programs.
BAGR's continued growth has allowed us to become ambitious in our ability to serve a larger community. Since being elected as President-Elect last year, I have had several conversations with our members and found a distinct enthusiasm for organising Durga Puja here in Rochester starting this year. Therefore, I on behalf of the Executive Committee, would like to give you the good news that we would be organising Durga Puja this year under the banner of BAGR. I urge you to support us in this new initiative.
I am proud of your trust, and I will justify it to the best of my competence and knowledge. Thank you.
