Itinerary : 5.00 PM: Social Mixer and Snacks 5.30 PM : Annual General Body Meeting and Election of new Executive Committee 6.30 PM: Cultural Program featuring ‘Kobi Pronam’ 6.55 PM: Recitation by Srinjon Gupta 7.00 PM: Dance Performances by students of Bharata Academy 7.15 PM: Dance by Bonita Sur 7.25 PM: Presentation from Hindu Temple of Rochester 7.30PM: Concert by Desert Monsoon 8.00 PM: Dinner GENERAL BODY MEETING BAGR Annual General Body Meeting will start at 5.30 PM on April 16, 2011. In the meeting the Current Executive Committee will inform the members about the events organized, financial status and other achievements during the tenure. This will be followed by the election of the new Executive Committee for 2011-12 and the President-Elect for 2012-13. All members are requested to attend. Bivas We would be publishing our annual magazine ‘Bivas’ on the occasion of Nabo Barsho. Just like last year, Bivas will be distributed in an electronic format. A soft copy of Bivas 2011 will be available on our website for your mental workout. Community Directory We will hand out a printed version of the community directory on April 16 th. For new members please send your contact information so that we can update the directory. Bivas 2011: Call for Submissions We would like to take this opportunity to request submissions to our annual magazine "Bivash", in the form of articles, pictures, children's drawings etc. Contributions in soft copy may be sent via email to soumyaroopbhatt@yahoo.com or by mail to Soumyaroop Bhattacharya, 16 Westview Terrace, Rochester NY 14620. These can be in English or Bengali. This in no way precludes any other submission that you have planned. Please feel free to submit your planned articles, poems, stories and if possible write something on Kabiguru as well. If you can draw a picture of him, we can use that as well. For Children's section, in addition to regular materials (drawings, poems, articles, etc.) we would encourage our youngsters to write a few words on some gems (famous personalities) of bengal. They can choose from the following names Rabindranath Tagore, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Swami Vivekananda, Jagadish Chandra Bose, Dr. Mohammad Yunus, Mother Teresa, Sheikh Mujibur Rahaman, Amartya Sen, Jamini Roy, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Satyendra Nath Bose, Satyajit Ray, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Sarat Chandra Chaterjee, Raja Ram Mohun Roy, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, among others. It does not need to be more than 3-5 sentences highlighting their achievements. The DEADLINE for submissions is MARCH 25, 2011 11.59 pm EST. Saraswati Puja BAGR will be celebrating Saraswati Puja on Saturday February 12, 2011 at India Community Center (ICC), 2171 Monroe County Line Rd Macedon, NY 14502-9001.
Puja will start at 11.00 AM, followed by Anjali at 12.00 noon and Bhog/Prasad at 1.00PM. If you wish to get 'Hate-Khori' for your child, please let us know at the earliest by email to soumyaroopbhatt@yahoo.com All you need to bring is a Slate and Chalk.
In the afternoon, the plan is carry on with our tradition of Table Tennis. In the interest of time, all matches will be limited to a single 21 point game. Please bring your Table Tennis Bats if you have one. We will have limited number of bats availabe.
After the games we will have Talent Show for Youngsters in the community. Parents please send us names of the participants in talent show, the talent they wish to showcase and approximate time (10 minutes max) they plan to take at the earliest by email to soumyaroopbhatt@yahoo.com

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss planning and organization of first ever Durga Puja in Rochester. All members are invited to attend and express their ideas and views. Summer Picnic 2010 As per the annual tradition, BAGR will have its summer picnic on Saturday July 17th starting at 12 noon. The picnic venue is Powder Mills Park (West Area) located at 154 Park Road, Pittsford, New York 14534. Puja Committee Meeting 1st A meeting of BAGR Durga Puja Committee has been scheduled on Sunday July 18th at 1 pm. The venue is at Pittsford Recreation Center, Room 102, 35 Lincoln Avenue Pittsford, NY 14534. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss planning and organization of first ever Durga Puja in Rochester. All members are invited to attend and express their ideas and views. Nabo Borsho on April 10, 2010 Nabo Borsho celebrations to be held on Saturday, April 10 at the ICC starting at 3pm. The current executive committee will be handing over the responsibilities for the next year(1417) to the new committee,headed by Soumyaroop Bhattacharya, at the general body meeting. The meeting will start at 4pm - All members are requested to attend the meeting. This will be followed by our annual noboborsho cultural programme and a delectable dinner - So don't miss it!
